E-mail from a customer they wrote;  Thanks for such   a nice horse.   I just feel so comfortable with him, not scared at all like with some horses.       Patt

Just rode "Kid" today, had to tell you he was wonderful, great around car's and machinery, dogs & flags waving in the wind.  I was amazed at how calm he was & willing to do anything!  Well worth the money.

The Mountain Horse breed actually hails from the Appalachian region of eastern Kentucky.   The basic characteristics of this breed are of a medium-sized horse (14.2 - 16 hh ) of gentle temperament and with an easy ambling four beat gait, and it is rugged enough to tolerate the winters with a minimum of shelter.  The breed is known for gentleness, it is a easy keeper and a wonderful riding horse with a strong heart and endurance.   Today the Mountain Horse is being used as a pleasure horse, for trail, and for competitive or endurance riding.  As a show horse the breed is rapidly gaining in popularity because of it's beauty and unique way of moving.   The calm temperament of this horse makes it ideally suited for 4-H projects and working cattle.
